Bearing Housing & Mounting Detail
Archive date pending confirmation. This public example was created for the portfolio in 2026.
Project Overview
Objective
Explore the geometry and access requirements of a mounted bearing housing, with a visible distinction between support, mounting, and rotating interfaces.
Role & Responsibilities
Independent portfolio study focused on geometry, documented inputs, and engineering review.
- Set the bearing and shaft interface envelopes.
- Build the mounting base and housing-support geometry.
- Inspect bearing access and the mounting-bolt envelope.
Engineering Features
- Shaft bore
- 20 mm
- Base envelope
- 90 × 50 mm
- Bearing series
- Not selected
- Mounting detail
- Representative
Tools & Software
Outcome
Housing layout and installation-interface review.
A documented portfolio demonstration. Manufactured or externally validated performance is not claimed.

Source & Engineering Notes
Model Assumptions
Representative 20 mm shaft bore and 90 × 50 mm base envelope. Ring geometry, fasteners, split line, and support walls are simplified. No commercial bearing series or rated load is selected.
Design Workflow
- Set the bearing and shaft interface envelopes.
- Build the mounting base and housing-support geometry.
- Inspect bearing access and the mounting-bolt envelope.
- Define the additional fit, retention, lubrication, and sealing requirements.
- Document the expected verification for a real load case.
Engineering Checks
Inspect concentricity and component access. Final design needs a selected bearing, load and life calculations, tolerances, retention, sealing, and mounting checks.
Study Limitations
New representative design study. The 2024 archive label is illustrative and does not claim a completed professional commission or validated housing design.
